History of Aran Sweaters

Aran Sweater

Apex Office Centers is getting ready for the cold

Now the cold weather is approaching, I looked through my sweaters to see which had survived the nibbles of the moths recently. I have very discerning moths that only take a tiny piece from every sweater, and then moves on.

The Aran style is very famous and rightly so, it takes its name from the Islands offAran Jumper-male and female the West Coast of Ireland. They were fisherman and farmers and their lives were deeply intertwined. The sweater was born from and for this environment. They needed to be sturdy and warm enough to survive the climate and keep the wearer alive.

The article of clothing is not just that, as they are intimately linked to the clans and their identities. The many varied stitch combinations impart knowledge to those who can interpret them. The families would guard their own patterns and could even be used to identify bodies that were washed up on the shore after sea accidents.

They are water repellant and can absorb 30% of its weight in water before it feels wet. The wool holds so much air that they also keep the wearers very warm.

Apex Office Centers has just as interesting a heritage, celebrating 19 years this week and also sports an Irish pedigree. Just as useful too.

We offer a telephone answering service, so that you do not miss those important potential clients calling when you are otherwise engaged. We collect your mail, which comes to a posh Suite address rather than the lowly PO box of every Tom, Dick and Harry.

Clients use Apex Office Centers as their main office when meeting clients, booking an office for an hour rather than paying for offices on a monthly basis. Your clients get greeted by our professional Receptionists and shown to your office for your arrival.

Our staff also act as your staff whenever you need an extra pair of hands. So basically you can outsource all the expensive items of running an office to us.

Call 916-677-4200 and ask for John or Sherri.
